Pupil Premium Information
What is Pupil Premium?
In 2011, the Government introduced a sum of money that is now given to schools on an annual basis to help to improve the attainment of disadvantaged children. This was introduced based on research carried out showing that children from more disadvantaged families. whether this is due to family upheaval or household income, tend to perform less well than their peers. Here at The Arches, we seek to narrow this performance gap, utilising PP to aid us in doing so for the sake of all children who ALL deserve to be educated equally and provided with equal opportunities.
Schools receive PP funding based on the number of pupils they have in January of each year from the following groups;
- Free School Meals
- Service Families
- Looked after and preivously looked after children
- Academically able pupils
The next review of the school's pupil premium strategy will take place in September 2024.
