The Arches Community Primary School
We, at The Arches, hope that your children will be happy, contented, fulfilled and excited. We aim to achieve all this by providing an enjoyable but challenging curriculum. Our staff are hardworking and dedicated to creating a positive and safe learning environment for children.
Our school is a place of learning and friendship. It is a community school with special links with the local community. We are always looking for ways to develop these special links.
The staff and Governors are proud to be involved in the early education of your children. Primary education lays the foundation stones, and hopefully, the inspiration for further education and skills that will last a lifetime. All staff, teaching and non-teaching, children, governors and parents/carers contribute to school life and share in its growth and well being.
Best wishes

School History
The Arches was established in September 2005 following the amalgamation of Blacon Hall Junior School and Blacon Infant and Nursery School. With a new name and a new purple uniform, our original intake stood at 298 pupils aged 3-11 years, in the totally refurbished two storey Infant Building.
In July 2006, our Nursery department closed and Nursery provision became available from Blacon Children's Centre fashioned on the old Junior Site.
Currently we have 8 classes (straight year groups with a mixed year 5/6 class)
We also have:
-A large hall with an equipped stage used for PE, Music and Dining
- A modern kitchen where daily healthy meals and snacks are prepared
- A school library
- Several smaller teaching areas
- Foundation Stage building with outdoor teaching/play area
- Fully refurbished and zoned playground
- Two large playing fields and extensive grounds
- Meeting room & Family Room
-Our 'Snug' an area for nurture provision
