School SENCo: Miss Nicky Johnson Miss Johnson

Head of Enhanced Provision: Mrs Sue Wilkins Mrs Wilkins

Our link Governor is Mrs Sheila Little.

At The Arches, we are committed to working together with all the members of the school community. This invovles constant communication with pupils, parents, carers, governors and members of staff. All invovled are committed to inclusion, including those with SEN. The school aims to provide an appropriate and high quality education for all children living in our local community. We believe that all children have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum. This will be readily accessible to them and they will be fully included in all aspects of school life.

It is accepted that many pupils will experience some form of difficulty at some time in their education.  At The Arches, we aim to match the pupils’ needs, whether they are complex and recognised by an Education and Health Care Plan or of a more specific but temporary nature, with appropriate support.

Help may be given in a variety of ways, ranging from high quality whole class teaching, intensive small group work or one to one support. A huge range of additional and different interventions are provided to those with SEN, tailored to your child's academic, social or emotional needs.

Pupils requiring support which is additional to or different from that which is normally provided, have their needs recorded and their progress monitored. SEN parents' evening appointments are also held on a termly basis.

The school works closely with the Local Authority and other agencies to help ensure the needs of all pupils are met.

If you have any SEN queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher for a meeting initially or we can organise a meeting with either Miss Johnson or Mrs Wilkins.

Please see below for our SEN information report which has detail questions answered.
