5J Spring Term
It was lovely to welcome the children back to school last week after the Christmas break. They settled back into learning wonderfully and we were impressed with their attitude to learning especially fractions!
How parents/carers can support learning at home:
Ideally, your child should read with an adult daily. Discussing what your child has read can really help ensure they have understood what they have read and develop their comprehension skills.
Please return reading books and Reading Records to school every day.
Help your child to learn the relevant times tables and practise spellings, ready for a test on a Tuesday.
Spellings and homework will be sent home every Thursday and will need to be returned on a Tuesday (you can of course send it in on the Friday or the Monday early).
Find books and articles related to this term’s topics to build on the children’s learning in school.
P.E. is on Wednesday and will be outside so please ensure the PE kit is warm for the January/February weather. Please send in a P.E kit on a Wednesday P.E. P.E kits should be plain white tshirt and black shorts/joggers/leggings with trainers. Children can wear an Arches hoody for PE lessons or their jumper.
Below is a link to the timetable for Spring Term 2023 and the Parent/Carer curriculum leaflet for Spring Term. Please take some time to read.
Important dates for your diary:
5J Class assembly: Friday 27th January at 8:50am in the school hall.
Parents' evening: Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th February.
